For some being vegan is a way of life, for others it is something they'll try because everyone is talking about it. There are people that go vegan because they need to lose weight, they've tried lots of diets, keto, paleo, low carb, the cabbage diet, now it's time to try vegan. Celebrities and famous people are no different. Loads of celebrities have made the change, they do it for their health, for the animals or both, some even do it for attention. Ok, let's take a look at a few:
Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was a scientist, he was born in Germany in 1879. Einstein formulated the theory of relativity when thinking about light, how it moves and what would a beam of light look like if you were to running along side it. Einstein is best known to most people for his mass-energy equivalence formula for calculating how much energy something has, E = mc2, which has been called "the world's most famous equation."
"Nothing will benefit health or increase chances of survival on earth as the evolution to a vegetarian diet." (The word vegan hadn't been invented yet.)
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton is a British racing driver who races in Formula One. He's been Formula One World Champion five times. Lewis is considered the best driver of his generation and is often considered one of the greatest drivers in the history of the sport.
"Every person I have met who has gone vegan says it's the best decision they have ever made."
Patrik Baboumian
Patrik is a strongman competitor, he won the title of Germany's Strongest Man and came 4th in the Loglifting World Championship in 2011. He currently holds the World log lift record in the 105k-category as well as the German heavyweight log lift record (180 kg).
Baboumian went vegetarian in 2005 and has been vegan since 2011. He has inspired many people to change their diets, even a butcher who said that after seeing him on TV he started thinking about what he'd been doing all his life and decided to go vegetarian and get another job.
"What happened when I went vegan, was the iron deficiency went away, because the dairy products were the problem. They were inhibiting the iron intake. I just felt great. After going vegan I felt like I was really in line with what my belief system was - that no animals, or humans, are worth more than other animals. This ideology would implement that you would have a behaviour towards animals - just the same way that you would behave towards fellow humans. You wouldn’t eat your friends right?”
Kat Von D
Kat Von D is an American tattoo artist who went on to release her own brand of makeup in 2008 which she changed in 2016 to become fully vegan.
"Years, of cultural programming has taught us to love some animals while eating others, when, in all reality, all animals are sentient beings with the capacity to feel, both physically and emotionally."
